Easter Message: Tinubu Urges Nigerians to Stay Hopeful Amid National Challenges

As Christians across Nigeria mark the Easter celebration, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on citizens to embrace unity and remain hopeful, likening the season’s message of resurrection to the country’s ongoing pursuit of peace and prosperity.

In his heartfelt Easter address on Friday, Tinubu reflected on the deep significance of Easter—the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ—as a symbol of love, sacrifice, and renewed hope. “This season reminds us of the power of redemption and the strength of unity,” he said.

The President, while acknowledging the nation’s recent hardships and tragic events, reassured Nigerians that his government remains fully committed to restoring peace and security. “We are deeply saddened by the pain recent events have caused. But rest assured, our resolve to defeat insecurity remains firm. Evil will never win,” he affirmed.

Tinubu stated that the Armed Forces and security agencies have been tasked with eliminating threats to national security swiftly and effectively, and he applauded their dedication in reclaiming peace across various regions.

Addressing the country’s economic struggles, the President admitted the weight of the current situation on everyday Nigerians but expressed optimism. “We know times are hard, but there are signs of recovery. We are working hard to rebuild investor confidence, strengthen vital sectors, and create an inclusive economy,” he said.

He also extended warm wishes to the global Christian community and shared prayers for Pope Francis’s continued recovery and inspiring leadership.

Concluding his message, Tinubu encouraged Nigerians to draw courage from the Easter story. “Just as Christ overcame death, Nigeria too will rise above its challenges. The storm will pass, and a brighter day will come,” he said.

“May this Easter bring peace to every home and strengthen our unity as a nation. Happy Easter, my fellow Nigerians.”
