Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has expressed deep concern over the ongoing violence in Plateau State and northern Nigeria, blaming foreign interests for fueling a sinister plot to destabilize the country.
In a passionate video making rounds on social media, Fani-Kayode alleged that the perpetrators are not just local insurgents, but foreign agents sneaking in through Nigeria’s unsecured borders. According to him, these individuals are deliberately inciting chaos along ethnic and religious lines to weaken the nation’s unity.
“They’re killing both Muslims and Christians, North and South alike,” he said. “This is a calculated attempt to discredit the government and throw Nigeria into turmoil. It’s happening again, just like before the 2015 elections.”
The former minister drew parallels between the current unrest and the buildup to the 2015 elections that saw former President Goodluck Jonathan lose power amid heightened insecurity. He claimed that similar foreign actors—particularly from Western nations and Israel—are already laying the groundwork to influence the 2027 elections.
While he condemned the foreign infiltration, Fani-Kayode also criticized retaliatory attacks against innocent citizens, calling for restraint and unity. “We must not take the law into our own hands. Innocent people are being lynched for no just cause. We need to rise to this challenge together,” he urged.
He called on the Plateau State government to be more proactive and urged the federal government to immediately tighten Nigeria’s borders. “Let’s seal our borders. If Trump can do it for America, we must do it for Nigeria too. Stop these invaders from coming in and eliminate those already here,” he declared.
Despite the strong tone of his message, Fani-Kayode also offered words of comfort and solidarity to the victims and their families. “To all those who have lost loved ones, my heart is with you. May God grant you healing and strength.”
Ending on a hopeful note, he stressed that Nigeria would endure: “We shall not fall. We will overcome. Nigeria will rise stronger, and democracy will thrive. This nation will stand united, by the grace of God.”
