The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has declared that both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, will complete eight years in office.
Umahi made this bold prophecy during the flag-off of the second phase of the Kaduna-Abuja-Kano expressway reconstruction. Addressing attendees at the event, Umahi likened himself to a prophet, drawing inspiration from biblical David, and confidently asserted that both leaders would serve two terms.
“I want to assure you, my dear governor, Uba Sani, that I’m also a prophet. Just like David in the Bible, who was both a prophet and a preacher, God has told me you will do eight years, and Bola Ahmed Tinubu will do eight years,” Umahi proclaimed.
He used the occasion to criticize the newly-formed opposition coalition, spearheaded by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and key political figures like ex-Governor Nasir El-Rufai and other stakeholders who recently met with former President Muhammadu Buhari.
“The voice of God is the voice of men,” Umahi said, adding, “but let me advise the so-called coalition and opposition — when you’re in opposition, it should be constructive, not destructive.”
According to the Works Minister, the opposition must provide credible alternatives rather than engage in mere criticisms. “Talk is cheap when you’re not the one in power. I’ve never seen any of them suggest better solutions,” he added.
He further commended President Tinubu for his economic reforms, noting recent positive reports from international financial institutions, including the World Bank, which signaled improvement in Nigeria’s financial standing.
“Nigeria is working, and the worst is over. God is with us, and He will take us to the promised land,” Umahi concluded.
