A tragic incident has shaken the Ihiala community in Anambra State as two men, Chidiebere Igboanugo and Emmanuel Ibeabuchi, have been arrested for the brutal murder of 80-year-old Theresa Igbojonu.
The victim was found in a horrific state, bound at both her legs and mouth before being killed.
A stolen black CG motorcycle, believed to belong to Theresa, was recovered by police during their investigation.
The investigation kicked off on April 2, 2025, after the police received a complaint, and a major breakthrough occurred on April 5 when the deceased’s son spotted the stolen motorcycle being driven by Chidiebere.
After being interrogated, Chidiebere pointed to Emmanuel as his accomplice, and further investigations revealed that two other suspects, Alla and Emeka, are still on the run.
The case has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough probe, and the police have vowed to intensify efforts to capture the remaining suspects.
Once the investigation is completed, the suspects will be taken to court for prosecution.
