The Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja has upheld Governor Monday Okpebholo’s election win, dismissing the challenge from PDP’s Asuerinme Ighodalo.
The tribunal ruled that the petition lacked solid evidence, stating that allegations of vote manipulation and over-voting were unproven.
With this judgment, Okpebholo and the APC celebrated their legal victory, urging for peace and unity in Edo State.
However, Ighodalo isn’t backing down. He described the ruling as a “travesty of justice” and announced plans to take the case to the Court of Appeal.
Meanwhile, similar petitions from the Action Alliance (AA) and the Accord Party (AP) were also thrown out for lack of evidence.
As the legal battle continues, Edo State remains on edge, waiting to see what happens next.
