The Nigerian Army has called on its troops to remain resilient, disciplined, and innovative in their ongoing battle against banditry in the northwest region of the country.
During an Eid-El-Fitr luncheon at Faskari Local Government Area in Katsina, the Commandant of the Infantry Corps, Major General A.K. Ibrahim, delivered this message on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. O.O. Oluyede.
Commending the Troops
In his address, Major General Ibrahim expressed his pride in the soldiers’ efforts, acknowledging their dedication and sacrifices.
“We are proud of the work you are doing here. I say this without contradiction: we are pleased with the effort displayed.
We know it is not perfect yet, but we are on course. I urge you to continue demonstrating resilience, discipline, and innovation,” he stated.
He further urged the troops to remain alert and maintain a high level of readiness to confront and eliminate the menace of banditry in the region.
A Call for Reflection and Commitment
Reading the COAS’s message, Major General Ibrahim reminded the soldiers that Eid-El-Fitr is a time for reflection, sacrifice, and renewed commitment.
He emphasized the core values of the Nigerian Army, including selflessness, discipline, unity, and a dedication to peace and national service.
He encouraged the troops to uphold these values and reinforce their commitment to defending the country with patriotism and courage.
He also reassured them of the Army’s unwavering commitment to enhancing operational capabilities and strengthening combat readiness to put an end to banditry.
As the fight continues, the resilience and dedication of the Nigerian Army remain key to restoring security and peace across the northwest.
