In a bold move, U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order targeting WilmerHale, the former law firm of Robert Mueller—the special counsel who once led the investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election.
The order enforces strict penalties on the firm, including revoking security clearances, canceling government contracts, and limiting employees’ access to federal buildings.

Trump’s latest decision appears to be part of a broader effort to challenge the legal institutions that have opposed him in the past.
Since returning to office, he has signed similar orders against four other top law firms, some of which have pushed back legally, while others have reportedly sought compromises.
Mueller, who led the controversial probe into whether Trump’s campaign colluded with Russia, secured convictions against six Trump associates.
However, he ultimately stated that no direct criminal conspiracy was found. Despite this, Trump has long dismissed the investigation as a “Russia hoax.”
