Tragedy in Kaduna: Bandits Kill Three Despite Ransom Payment

The Surubu Community in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State is in mourning after three kidnapped victims were found dead, despite a ransom payment made for their release.

A Shocking Betrayal

According to Comrade Caleb Magaji, the National Public Relations Officer of the Surubu Community Development Association, the victims were abducted on March 22, 2025, while going about their daily activities.

Their families paid a hefty ransom, hoping for their safe return. However, their lifeless bodies were discovered in the forest by the military during a search operation on the night of March 24.

Who Were the Victims?

The three deceased victims, all from Kusheka and Kabene communities in Kumana Chiefdom, have been identified as:

  • Obadiah Dangana
  • Emmanuel Moses (also known as Bobbling Guy)
  • Danjuma Sardauna

Ongoing Insecurity in Kaduna

This heartbreaking incident is not isolated. Magaji noted that the Surubu community and other parts of Kauru Local Government continue to face relentless attacks from bandits.

Many residents remain in captivity, even after ransom payments.

Call for Government Action

The community is urging the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to restore peace, bring the perpetrators to justice, and secure the release of those still held captive.

While acknowledging the government’s recent establishment of a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Kauru, Magaji stressed the need for military checkpoints in Kusheka, Kabene, and Geshere to strengthen security.

Residents are being advised to stay vigilant and cooperate with security agencies as efforts continue to restore normalcy.

The Kaduna State Police Command has yet to provide an official statement on the matter.
