The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an investigation into the tragic death of an unidentified woman, suspected to have been hit by a train along the Gwagwa-Idu rail line in Abuja.
Unidentified Body Discovered on Railway Tracks
According to reports, the lifeless body of the woman was found on the tracks behind Zeberced Company, Idu, on Monday, March 24, 2025.
Upon receiving a distress call at around 11:00 AM, police officers arrived at the scene and confirmed that the woman had suffered fatal injuries, likely caused by a passing train.
Police Seek Public Assistance
Confirming the incident, FCT Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh stated that the victim’s remains have been taken to Kubwa General Hospital for identification and further investigation.
Authorities are now working to locate her family and determine the exact circumstances surrounding the accident.
Meanwhile, the FCT Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, DCP Isyaku Sharu, has urged residents to be extra cautious around railway lines and strictly adhere to safety regulations.
