South Africa announced on Saturday that its ambassador to the United States, Ebrahim Rasool, has been given 72 hours to leave the country following his expulsion by Washington.
According to the South African foreign ministry, Rasool was notified by the US State Department on Friday regarding the expulsion order.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio took to X (formerly Twitter) to explain the decision, stating that Rasool was “no longer welcome” in the United States.
He accused the ambassador of being a “race-baiting politician who hates America and hates @POTUS,” referring to President Donald Trump.
