Tanker Driver and Motor Boy Burnt to Death in Early Morning Blaze
A devastating fire outbreak at the GABSTAB Petrol Station in Orita Challenge, Ibadan, has resulted in the tragic deaths of a petrol tanker driver and his motor boy.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, March 4, 2025, was confirmed by Mr. Yemi Akinyinka, the General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency.

Fire Service Responds Swiftly

According to Akinyinka, the agency received an emergency fire alert at 5:15 a.m. and immediately deployed firefighters to the scene.

“We got information about the fire at GABSTAB Mega Petrol Station, Orita Challenge, at 5:15 a.m. and deployed our men immediately.

Unfortunately, the driver and his motor boy were burnt to death,” Akinyinka stated.

Fire Contained, Further Investigations Ongoing

The fire service confirmed that the blaze has been successfully controlled, preventing further damage to the filling station and surrounding areas.

However, officials have yet to determine the exact cause of the fire.

Authorities have assured the public that a detailed investigation is underway, and more updates will be provided soon.
