The Kogi State Government has reiterated its dedication to creating a thriving business environment, positioning the state as a hub of opportunities for entrepreneurs and investors.
This commitment was highlighted during the Impact Tour of Kogi by Convergence of Africa, where Kingsley Fanwo, the Commissioner of Information and Communications, emphasized Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s focus on security and economic growth.
Ensuring Security for Business Prosperity
Fanwo acknowledged that no business can flourish in an unsafe environment, stressing that the Ododo-led administration is making security a top priority to foster economic expansion.
“We are ensuring that Kogi remains a safe and stable place for businesses to thrive. This is the foundation for attracting investors and encouraging local enterprises,” he stated.
Strategic Business Growth and Investment
The Commissioner also highlighted the state’s commitment to intra-regional trade, particularly in fashion, food, and fitness industries. This initiative, he explained, will:
✅ Strengthen alliances between businesses
✅ Encourage investment opportunities
✅ Promote economic sustainability
Fanwo further revealed that the Kogi State 32-Year Development Plan is a long-term roadmap designed to ensure sustainable progress.
“This plan extends beyond any single administration’s tenure. Our goal is to position Kogi as an economic powerhouse for generations to come,” he added.
Empowering Entrepreneurs for the Future
The Convergence of Africa Initiative, led by Barr. Patient Olusiyi, aims to train 150 entrepreneurs in Kogi, equipping them with essential skills to build businesses that outlive their founders.
“Kogi is the first among 10 states selected for this program. We are empowering entrepreneurs to achieve financial independence and contribute meaningfully to the economy,” Olusiyi noted.
With these proactive measures, Kogi State is laying the groundwork for sustainable economic growth, ensuring that businesses and entrepreneurs can flourish in a secure and well-structured environment.
