Federal Poly Bauchi Student Fatally Struck by Truck
A devastating accident on Wednesday claimed the life of Ms. Faith Aluku Adeshola, a diploma student of Mass Communication at the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi.
According to eyewitnesses, Faith was on her way to an evening lecture when a reckless truck driver struck her. She was reportedly on a motorcycle at the time of the accident when the truck rammed into them, killing her on the spot.
Authorities have since arrested both the truck driver and the Okada rider, and they are currently in police custody.
Following the tragedy, the President of the institution’s Students’ Union Government (SUG), Comrade Haruna Umar, expressed deep sorrow over Faith’s untimely death.
“She was still in the process of completing her registration when this unfortunate incident happened,” he lamented.
He urged students to remain calm as the polytechnic management and security agencies work to ensure justice is served.
Umar also called on the school administration and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to install speed bumps near the institution to prevent similar accidents in the future.
Faith’s body has been deposited at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital morgue.
