The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Lagos Branch is set to make history with the launch of the Premier Bar League 2025, a first-of-its-kind football tournament designed to promote unity, camaraderie, and fitness among legal professionals.

Scheduled to begin on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Turf Arena in Oniru Estate, Victoria Island, the event promises to bring lawyers together in a thrilling blend of sports and networking.

A New Era of Sportsmanship Among Lawyers

During the official draw ceremony, League Committee Chairman, Kunle Olaofe, expressed enthusiasm about the initiative, stating that the competition would provide a fun and engaging way for legal practitioners to interact beyond the courtroom.

“This league isn’t just about football—it’s about fostering strong professional relationships, teamwork, and a sense of belonging within the legal community,” Olaofe noted.

NBA Lagos Chairman, Bisi Makanjuola, represented by Mrs. Uchenna Akingbade, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing that the league would encourage lawyers to embrace fitness while strengthening bonds within the profession.

Tournament Format & Teams

The Premier Bar League 2025 will run from February 16th to April 13th, 2025, featuring 16 competitive teams12 male teams and 4 female teams—led by Technical Partner Olujimi Olujide-Poko.

The male teams are divided into two groups:

  • Group A: Tats Africa, Grey FC, NBA Young Boys FC, Unilawrin Alumni FC, Shield United FC, Nexus FC
  • Group B: Unilawrin Alumni United, Falana & Falana, CLG All Stars, Welfare FC, Gavalex FC, Legal FC

With fantastic prizes at stake, the tournament promises intense rivalries and unforgettable moments on the pitch.
