Governor AbdulRazaq Escorts Kwara Christian Pilgrims to Lagos Airport
The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Friday night, accompanied the state’s Christian pilgrims to Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, to bid them farewell on their journey to the Holy Land.
His Senior Special Assistant on New Media confirmed the governor’s gesture in a statement released on Saturday morning.
Governor’s Continued Support for Pilgrims
It has become a tradition for Governor AbdulRazaq to personally visit and accompany intending pilgrims as a way of showing support and solidarity.
During his stop at the Lagos Airport, he exchanged pleasantries with the pilgrims, who in turn praised his humility and contributions to the state’s development.
Addressing the travelers, Governor AbdulRazaq urged them to uphold good conduct and represent Kwara State and Nigeria positively throughout their pilgrimage.
“Be good ambassadors of our state and country. May your journey be blessed, and may your prayers bring prosperity to Kwara and Nigeria,” he said.
The pilgrims departed for Jordan at 10:45 PM on Friday night, with plans to visit Israel and Jordan for their spiritual journey.

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, acknowledged Governor AbdulRazaq’s unwavering support for pilgrimage programs, not just in Kwara State but nationwide.
Similarly, Prof. Timothy Opoola, Chairman of the Kwara State Christian Pilgrims’ Welfare Board, expressed gratitude to the governor for ensuring a smooth pilgrimage process.
He also advised the pilgrims to respect the rules of their host countries and adhere to pilgrimage guidelines.
