Ahmadu Bello University Appoints New Vice-Chancellor

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has announced the appointment of Professor Adamu Ahmed as its new Vice-Chancellor.

His appointment was confirmed during the university’s 209th Special Council meeting, chaired by Mahmud Yayale Ahmed.

A statement released by the university’s Director of Public Affairs, Malam Auwalu Umar, on Wednesday confirmed that Prof. Ahmed will take over from Prof. Kabir Bala.

Prof. Ahmed, a seasoned academic in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, previously served as the Director of the Directorate of University Advancement.

He is also the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council at the Federal University of Education, Kano.

Stakeholders within the university community have welcomed his appointment, describing him as an experienced leader and administrator.

“Professor Ahmed is the right person for the job,” a source told NIGPOST. “He has the expertise, vision, and leadership qualities to move ABU forward.”
