Kaduna Police Foil Human Trafficking Attempt, Arrest Three Suspects
Security operatives from the Kaduna State Police Command have successfully intercepted a human trafficking operation, rescuing 13 victims who were being transported to Oyo State.
The command also apprehended three suspects involved in the operation. The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
Police Action and Arrests
According to the statement, the arrests took place on January 31, 2025, around 7 PM. The suspects, identified as:
Samson Peter (25 years old)
Haruna Duniya (45 years old)
Abdulazaq Olawole (58 years old)
were caught while transporting the victims in an unmarked vehicle.
> “The victims were successfully rescued, and an investigation is currently underway,” Adejobi stated.
Ogun Police Take Down Kidnap Syndicate
In a separate operation on January 29, 2025, the Ogun State Police Command located a kidnappers’ hideout, leading to a confrontation.
> “Upon sighting the police, the gang opened fire, leading to a gun duel,” the statement read.
As a result:
Five gang members were neutralized
Three kidnapped victims were rescued
Recovered items included:
Various arms and ammunition
Three mobile phones
₦5.2 million in cash
Victims’ stolen vehicles
IGP Commends Officers’ Efforts
Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, praised the security operatives for their bravery, dedication, and patriotism.
He reassured the public that the Nigerian Police Force remains committed to combating crime and ensuring safety across the country.
