Nigerian media personality, Toke Makinwa, has called out renowned musician Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba or Tuface, for making a public announcement about his separation from his wife, Annie Idibia.
2Baba had revealed in an Instagram post on Sunday that he and Annie had been separated for some time and were now moving forward with a divorce after 12 years of marriage.
Reacting to the post, Makinwa expressed her disappointment, stating, “This is wrong on all levels, and you should be ashamed of yourself for bringing this here.
Bring it on. If you think she’s alone, let me tell you here that you’ll have to fight all of us.”
Makinwa went further to criticize those choosing to stay neutral on the issue, emphasizing the importance of standing up for women.
She wrote on her Instagram story, “What is wrong is wrong. If you, as a woman, sit on the fence on this, it might miss you, but it could touch your daughter or another female in your family.
“No one is innocent, and if you want to involve the media, knowing the truth, we will fight for her.”
In another Instagram story, Makinwa questioned the timing of 2Baba’s public announcement, suggesting the full truth about the situation would eventually come to light.
“Nobody is asking anyone to remain in a situation that no longer serves them. If you must leave, by all means, leave. But why bring this online right now?
“We know what’s happening behind closed doors. The world doesn’t. It’s already chaotic with opinions everywhere.
When I say we’ll fight for her, I’m not talking about the general public. A few of us know the truth, and time will reveal it. Timing is everything, and so is empathy,” she stated.
Makinwa also accused 2Baba of adding to the negative narrative about Annie despite claiming to preach love.
The unfolding drama has sparked widespread reactions from fans and followers, with many weighing in on the matter.
