Two Nollywood stars, Princess Chineke and Mayowa Dosu, have swapped their roles in the Nigerian film industry for life in the United States Army.
The actresses recently announced their new career paths on Instagram, showcasing their pride and excitement about the transition.
Princess Chineke’s Journey
Princess Chineke, known for her roles in Nollywood classics like To Love A Sister, Stormy Hearts, and Masters At War, expressed her elation in a heartfelt post. She wrote:
> “I’m an American soldier, I’m a member of a team, we are the Army and proud of our name. I answered the call of service to my country, to serve the people of the United States of America. This I will defend, so help me God. God bless America.”
Her enthusiasm was evident as she added, “What God cannot do does not exist,” reflecting her faith and gratitude for this new chapter in her life.
Mayowa Dosu’s Quiet Announcement
Unlike Chineke, Mayowa Dosu opted for a more subtle announcement. However, her move came as a surprise, considering she released a movie just last year.
As an actress and producer with several projects to her name, Dosu’s shift to the military underscores a significant career pivot.
The decision by these two actresses to join the US Army highlights a growing trend among Nigerian professionals seeking new opportunities abroad.
