Gunmen have tragically killed Prof. Emeka Chukwuma, a respected lecturer at Delta State University, Abraka.
The incident occurred on Friday night in his hometown, Umueji, located in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
Sources revealed that the 56-year-old professor was in the habit of returning to Asaba every weekend.
Unfortunately, during his visit to his residence in the St. Bridges area of Umueji, unknown assailants attacked and killed him.
A local resident expressed deep concern, stating, “Prof. Chukwuma regularly came home for the weekend. Sadly, he was assassinated in his own home. Asaba is no longer safe, and the situation is alarming.”

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the assassination, stating that investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the culprits.
“Yes, the matter has been reported to the police, and we are currently looking into the incident,” Edafe confirmed.
