Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has reiterated the state’s dedication to creating an investor-friendly environment as part of efforts to drive economic growth and development.
Speaking during a meeting in Akure with the management team of Sahara Energy, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his gratitude for the company’s commitment to invest in the state.
Sahara Energy was recently licensed by the Federal Government, through the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), to manage two newly acquired oil fields (PPL 270 and PPL 271) in Ilaje Local Government Area.
Government’s Commitment to Investors
Governor Aiyedatiwa assured Sahara Energy of the state’s unwavering support.
“Although the Federal Government issued the licenses, Ondo State will fully back your activities to ensure success. We are committed to maintaining Ondo as one of the safest and most investor-friendly states in Nigeria,” he stated.
The governor acknowledged that sustainable development requires collaboration with private investors and urged host communities to support Sahara Energy’s operations.
“We need the cooperation of communities to create an enabling environment that benefits all stakeholders,” he added.
Sahara Energy’s Plans for Ondo State
Engr. Funsho Kupolokun, Chairman of Sahara Energy’s Board and a former Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), led the company’s delegation.
A proud native of Ondo State, Kupolokun described the visit as a crucial step before commencing operations.
“We are here to share good news with the Ondo State government. Before starting, we seek the governor’s permission and blessings to ensure a smooth working relationship with the state,” Kupolokun said.
He praised the governor’s efforts to create an investor-friendly climate and pledged the company’s compliance with all state regulations.
