The Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has announced an impressive revenue milestone, exceeding its 2024 target by generating ₦71.6 billion.
The Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Effiong Harrison, disclosed that the command’s initial target for 2024 was ₦56.86 billion. The revenue achieved represents a 20% increase, amounting to an additional ₦14.77 billion.
Harrison described this achievement as unprecedented and the highest in the command’s history, noting that July 2024 stood out with a record-breaking monthly revenue of ₦12 billion.
Comparing 2023 and 2024, the MMIA Command recorded significant growth, generating ₦41.1 billion more than the ₦30.5 billion achieved in 2023. This marks a staggering 135% increase in revenue.
Harrison attributed the success to the dedication and adherence to high operational standards by the officers and staff of the command. He stated:
> “This exceptional performance is a testament to the relentless efforts of our officers. Their commitment has been instrumental in achieving this milestone.”

The MMIA Controller expressed his gratitude to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, and his management team for their unwavering support.
