Empowering Communities in Kwara
On January 6, 2025, philanthropist Erelu Adebola Phillips made a significant impact in Kwara State by empowering 200 individuals with N100 million.
This initiative benefitted widows, the elderly, farmers, and schools, and was aimed at combating poverty.
The distribution ceremony took place in Isanlu-Isin, where items such as farm implements, sewing machines, grinding machines, food, and cash were handed out.
Additionally, 19 schools received N100,000 each.
Supporting Business and Education
Erelu Adebola Phillips shared that 25 people were awarded N500,000 each, while 50 others received N250,000 for business purposes.
This gesture was intended to provide a helping hand to improve local livelihoods. The event also saw 141 elderly individuals receiving N10,000 each along with food supplies.
Farmers were provided with essential inputs like sprayers to enhance their agricultural activities.
The philanthropist praised the people of Igbomina for their support and urged the beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity.
During the event, two non-indigenes were honored for their significant contributions to humanity.
Dr. Isaac Amao was conferred the title of Otunba Mayegun, while Chief Olayinka Latinwo received the Iya Oba General title.
Olusin of Isanlu Isin, Solomon Oloyede, also took the opportunity to encourage both the sponsor and title recipients to continue contributing to the welfare of humanity.
