The Ofokutu Royal Family has firmly denied claims that they have withdrawn their lawsuit regarding the Owa Obokun throne in Ijesaland. In a statement released on Friday, Omooba Banji Obembe, the family’s chairman, called the allegations made by Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi “incorrect and misleading.”
Obembe clarified that the decision to pursue legal action was a collective one, and no single member has the power to unilaterally remove the case from court. He emphasized that any changes to the ongoing case would be decided together by the family.
“The case remains active, and we are confident that justice will be served in our favor,” Obembe stated, urging the public to disregard false information suggesting otherwise.
The statement further explained that the family’s legal action is not aimed at the Agba Ijesa but is rooted in their commitment to fairness and the preservation of their rightful place in the royal lineage.
“We call on the Ijesa community, our stakeholders, and the general public to remain patient and trust that the judicial process will lead to a just resolution,” Obembe concluded.
