Kogi Leaders Call for Unity and Support for Progress as 2025 Beckons

In a heartwarming visit to the Ohinoyi Palace of Ebiraland, Yahaya Bello, the former Governor of Kogi State, urged the people of Kogi to embrace unity for the peace, economic growth, and infrastructural development of the state. His visit, which followed his bail granted by an Abuja High Court, brought together key figures, including the current Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, and other prominent leaders.

Bello, speaking alongside Governor Ododo, stressed that the success of Kogi’s future lies in the unity of its diverse ethnic groups. He encouraged everyone to come together to support the present administration, ensuring that the state’s progress continues. Bello also extended his support for President Bola Tinubu, noting that the federal government’s policies would guide Nigeria towards a brighter future. He urged Nigerians to be patient as these plans unfold.

Governor Ododo, reflecting on his predecessor’s contributions, acknowledged that Bello had laid the groundwork for success, particularly within the civil service. He emphasized that the administration is committed to ensuring timely salary payments and other public service improvements. Ododo also reiterated his dedication to serving the people of Kogi, promising to keep working toward a unified state, even if it means making personal sacrifices.

The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Dr. Tijani Ahmed Anaje, also took the opportunity to call on the Ebira people, both at home and abroad, to unite in peace, putting the common good above personal interests. He prayed for continued prosperity and development in Kogi.

Abdullahi Bello, Chairman of the State’s APC, praised Yahaya Bello for his efforts in infrastructure and human capital development. He expressed optimism that the year 2025 will usher in even greater peace, unity, and progress for Kogi State.

The occasion was marked by powerful prayers from religious leaders, including Chief Imam Sheik Salihu Abere, Pastor Ejuwon John, and Chief Mariba Amos, who asked for divine blessings on the state and its people as they move into the new year.
