In a remarkable operation, troops from 1 Brigade, Sector 2, under Operation Fansan Yamma, apprehended a 25-year-old female ammunition courier, Shamsiyya Ahadu, in Zamfara State. The arrest occurred on December 28, 2024, in the Badarawa area of Shinkafi Local Government Area, following an intelligence report about the movement of terrorist logistics.
Shamsiyya, who was transporting 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and 6 magazines, was allegedly on her way to deliver the weapons to the notorious terrorist leader, Bello Turji, and his camp. She was arrested alongside her accomplice, a motorcycle rider named Ahmed Husaini.
The successful capture was a result of a strategic roadblock set up by the troops based on the gathered intelligence. Both suspects are currently under investigation by the appropriate authorities.
Operation Fansan Yamma continues to focus on dismantling terrorist networks and preventing the illegal movement of arms within its operational area. The military authorities have called on the public to keep providing valuable information that could lead to the arrest of other terrorist suspects and their collaborators.
