The Cross River State Police have arrested a couple, Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel, in connection with a disturbing case of child theft and trafficking. The arrest came after a concerned citizen in Calabar reported the suspicious activity, which led to the rescue of a two-year-old child who had been abducted.
The couple is accused of kidnapping the child with the intention of selling him. Police spokesperson, SP Irene Ugbo, confirmed the arrests and assured that the suspects would face charges in court once the investigation is complete.
SP Ugbo also took the opportunity to remind parents to stay vigilant and protect their children from such heinous crimes.
