A devastating tragedy struck at a popular ski resort in Georgia, where a deadly carbon monoxide leak claimed the lives of 12 people. Among the victims were 11 foreign nationals from Ukraine, Russia, and Armenia, along with one Georgian citizen. They were found in a sleeping area above a restaurant at the Gudauri ski resort, in the country’s northern region.
The leak, which is believed to have been caused by faulty gas systems, went unnoticed until it was too late. The gas, colorless, odorless, and incredibly dangerous, silently poisoned the victims while they slept, leaving emergency responders with little to do when they arrived.
