Dr. Tersagh Arrested Over Kidnapping of Wife of JOSTUM Chairman in Makurdi

A disturbing case has unfolded in Makurdi, where Dr. Ichor Tersagh, a lecturer at Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University of Agriculture, was arrested in connection with the kidnapping of his colleague’s wife, Susan Anyagh. The victim, married to Paul Anyagh, the local head of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (JOSTUM), was abducted last Saturday while driving along Otukpo Road in Makurdi.

According to reports, Susan was ambushed by a group of kidnappers who stole N1.3 million from her car. They beat her severely and left her unconscious in a remote area. Fortunately, after regaining consciousness, she was found along Yandev-Ugbema Road and rushed to a nearby clinic for medical care.

In her statement to the police, Susan shared a chilling detail: she had seen Dr. Tersagh near the scene of the abduction and called out to him for help, but he reportedly ignored her and walked away. While being driven by the kidnappers, she overheard a phone call from Tersagh, where he allegedly instructed them to kill her. However, the kidnappers changed their minds after seeing a police checkpoint, beat her further, and abandoned her.

Dr. Tersagh has been arrested by the police, and an investigation is underway to uncover more details surrounding the case.
