Chief Oladejo Moruf Rufai, the Mogaji of Omotara Okugbaja family in Ibadan, has called on youths in the city to avoid actions and behaviors that could tarnish their family’s reputation.
He made this appeal during his coronation ceremony held at Baale Oyesile Olugbode’s palace in Ita Baale, Ibadan, on Saturday.
The event saw the presence of notable dignitaries, including the Olori Alaagba of Ibadanland, Chief Ojeniyi Akintomide Okugbaja, and Mogaji Olugbode, Chief Teslim Abiodun Olugbode, among others.
Rufai was officially installed as Mogaji by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin, on October 14, 2024.
In his address, Rufai urged the youth to stay away from violence, drug abuse, and other social vices that could damage their personal and family image.
He also emphasized the importance of education, skill acquisition, and moral upbringing for the younger generation.
Rufai thanked family members and well-wishers who supported his journey to becoming Mogaji, which began with his selection on September 1, 2024.
He pledged to work towards the betterment of his family, Ibadan, and humanity at large.
The Mogaji also called on parents to provide their children with the support needed to excel academically and professionally, ensuring they can compete globally.
He concluded by appealing for collective efforts to enhance the family’s reputation on the global stage, asking for God’s blessings to achieve these goals.
