Tinubu Embarks on Three-Day State Visit to France

President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja today for a three-day state visit to France at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.

This visit aims to deepen Nigeria-France relations in areas including politics, economy, culture, agriculture, security, education, health, youth development, innovation, and energy transition.

Key Highlights of the Visit:

Diplomatic Meetings and Engagements.

President Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, will be formally received at Les Invalides, a historic French military museum, and at the Élysée Palace by President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron.

The itinerary includes bilateral discussions focused on fostering skill-building programs for Nigerian youths in automation, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

The visit also involves discussions on shared values in areas such as finance, trade, solid minerals, and communication.

A session with the France-Nigeria Business Council is scheduled to enhance private sector contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth.

Focus on Women and Vulnerable Populations.

Brigitte Macron and Oluremi Tinubu will discuss initiatives aimed at empowering women and supporting children through Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Initiative.

State Dinner and Accompanying Officials.

The French President will host Tinubu and his delegation at a state dinner before their departure.

The Nigerian delegation comprises top government officials who will participate in meetings and explore partnerships beneficial to Nigeria.

Tinubu’s Foreign Engagements So Far.

This marks President Tinubu’s 32nd foreign trip since assuming office 18 months ago and his fifth visit to France.

His travels, spanning 17 countries, include engagements in the United Kingdom, United States, Saudi Arabia, India, Brazil, and Germany, among others, totaling approximately 278 flight hours.

The visit underscores Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s global partnerships, particularly in driving economic development and addressing domestic challenges.
