PDP will regain momentum if Tinubu removes Wike – Segun Sowunmi, Atiku’s former aide.

PDP Will Regain Strength if Tinubu Sacks Wike – Segun Sowunmi

Segun Sowunmi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former spokesman for Atiku Abubakar, has pinpointed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the root cause of the party’s current challenges.

Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Sowunmi criticized Tinubu’s decision to appoint Nyesom Wike as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) without consulting the PDP leadership.

He argued that the move disrupted the party’s unity and strength.

Sowunmi stated:
“President Tinubu is the problem of the PDP.

He had no business taking Wike from our party and appointing him as a minister without involving us.

When Obasanjo wanted a government of national unity, he consulted the party’s elders.

Tinubu did the opposite by putting one of us in a strategic position, causing complications.”

The former Atiku spokesperson suggested that sacking Wike and encouraging his return to PDP would restore stability and energy to the party.

He added:
“If Tinubu sacks Wike and returns him to PDP, the party will regain its stamina and move forward quickly. My position is clear, and I’ve explained and justified it.”
