Makinde Establishes Compensation Panel for Circular Road Project.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has established a monitoring committee to oversee compensation payments for landowners impacted by the land acquisition on the first segment of the Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja Circular Road project.

A letter signed by Prof. Olanike Adeyemo, on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government, announced that the committee will be led by CP Sunday Odukoya (Rtd.), the Governor’s Executive Assistant on Security. Mr. S.O.A. Olatunde, Deputy Director of Admin and Supplies in the Governor’s Office, will serve as the committee’s secretary.

Other members of the committee are Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun (Commissioner for Culture & Tourism), Mrs Bosede Sodiq (SSA Broadcast Media), Mr A.O. Kolapo (Director of Admin and Supplies, Governor’s Office), and representatives of the Bureau of Public Procurement and Project Monitoring Agency.

According to the letter, the monitoring team’s terms of reference include verification of the list of would-be beneficiaries submitted by the Ministry of Lands, Housing & Urban Development and ensuring that the payments of the compensation are made to the right people.
