In a heartwarming gesture to support education and professional development, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has awarded scholarships and brand-new laptops to 127 law graduates who are set to attend the Nigerian Law School.
The presentation ceremony, held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Damaturu, saw the governor personally hand over the scholarship cheques.
He noted that this initiative is aimed at easing the registration process and academic journey of the young lawyers as they pursue their one-year mandatory training at the Law School.
Governor Buni highlighted the consistency of his administration in promoting education, noting that over 38,000 students have so far benefited from the state’s scholarship scheme since he assumed office.
He proudly stated that this is the fourth consecutive year that law graduates have received such support under his leadership.
“It is with a sense of fulfilment that the government has approved sponsorship for all 127 graduates who applied,” he said.
Each student will receive a scholarship worth ₦475,000 and a laptop to aid their academic work.
This recent initiative comes shortly after the return of 189 out of 233 Yobe students who were earlier sponsored to study in seven different universities across India—a testament to the administration’s commitment to building a well-educated, globally competitive generation.
Governor Buni reaffirmed his government’s dedication to investing in the youth through education, pledging continued support for students at all levels.
