Ijaw Youths Celebrate Historic Recognition

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide has lauded the recognition of King Asari-Dokubo Dabaye Amakiri (I), the Amayanabo of Torusarama Piri, Elem Kalabari, by Rivers State Governor Siminalaye Fubara.

The Governor officially presented him with a staff of office and a certificate of recognition as a traditional ruler, marking a significant moment for the Ijaw community.

The IYC, in a statement by its spokesman, Amb. Binebai Princewill, described the event as a “divine and welcome development” for the Ijaw people in Rivers State and beyond.

> “As a former President of the Ijaw Youth Council and a staunch advocate for the Niger Delta struggle, King Asari-Dokubo’s leadership legacy remains a source of pride for the Ijaw nation,” Princewill said.

The IYC expressed confidence that King Dokubo would leverage his vast experience to foster unity and advocate for the betterment of the Ijaw people and the Niger Delta region.

The IYC praised Governor Fubara for his visionary leadership and for recognizing traditional rulers who continue to champion the development of Rivers State.

> “This act of presenting staff of office to HRH Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari and other monarchs is a testament to the Governor’s commitment to fostering unity and development in the state,” Princewill added.

The IYC also urged all Ijaw sons and daughters, along with residents of Rivers State, to support Governor Fubara’s administration in transforming the state for the collective good.

> “As Governor Fubara continues to implement transformative policies, the Ijaw Youth Council assures him of the unwavering support of the entire Ijaw nation,” the statement concluded.

This recognition solidifies Asari-Dokubo’s role as a respected traditional leader and a vital figure in the ongoing quest for justice and development in the Niger Delta.
